Is it true that working out and lifting weights causes your breast milk to taste bad?

I have started an exercise program and I want to continue nursing. My baby is 6 months old.

Yes, but you have to do exercise excessively for this to happen. If you do moderate exercise regularly then it's fine. But if you exercise a lot and also suddenly it can make your milk taste bad to the baby. I read that sudden rigorous work out routines excrete too many toxins into the milk. (when you work out it flushes out your body and also reduces fat cells, this produces toxins and those toxins are bad for baby and also make the milk taste bad).

No, it is not true.
Keep nursing your baby!

Not bad, just different. The lactic acid released when you exercise can be tasted in the milk, but I wouldn't worry about it! Your baby loves those boobs too much to quit!

its fine. I worked out while breastfeeding my son and never had a problem. people will tell you it becomes bitter because of the lactic acid that builds up when you work out.

Never heard of such a thing. I do know that the foods you eat affect how the breast milk tastes. If you eat spicy foods, you will have spicy milk. Some babies actually love it! If you eat a variety of healthy foods, you are giving your baby a head start on getting tastes for healthy foods. If exercising made breast milk taste bad, physicians wouldn't recommend it in the first place.

No but if you breast feed your baby while lifting weights he will talk just like Arnold Schwartzennegger. Just kidding! Exercise can only be good for you and the baby.
