Divorce Help?

I seperated from my husband in March 2006. At that time, we filed the disolution of marriage papers, but our appointment got cancelled for our proceedings and rather than rescheduling, we put it off. I was a full time student in a strict nursing program and not allowed to miss any days. So needless to say, we are STILL legally married today. He has moved on, has a live in gf and I have dated others too. There is no chance of reconcilliation. We need to get our divorce done, which we will, but one question. I guess he is struggling a bit with his bills now. If he were to have accounts in collections, could I be liable since I am technically his wife?! Or would not be since I have had my own address for 1.5 yrs now. I am going to file asap by the way...

Typically yes if you live in a community property state.
You may not if your name does not appear anywhere in his documents.
I'm guessing so you need to contact a lawyer ASAP.

I was separated for almost a yr before my divorce hearing, and the way our judgment reads is that who's ever name is on the bill is their respectability unless otherwise compromised.
