Interim accreditation... what are the drawbacks.? |
My wife is getting into a nursing program that is not fully accredited. How dangerous is this? What are the negatives? I would ask if it is an independent Nursing program or if it is tied to a college or university. If the college or university is accredited, chances are the interim accreditation means they are just trying to start a good program. Yes, you might be taking a chance, but when she does graduate from the program and if the accreditation does not come through, she could probably get a letter from the program stating that she enrolled in the program during an interim accreditation period. And from what I understand from the nursing program at the institution where I work, nurses are always in demand, so if your wife can show she is competent and can get her license, people should hire her. Hope this helps, but I would also recommend talking to the coordinators of the nursing program to get their take on the accreditation. You'd probably have to take it with a grain of salt, but it would give you more information. |
