What is harder regarding Nursing?

I'm waiting to hear if I got into the nursing program I applied to. Could you tell me if the pre-requisites for it (A&P 1 and 2, Microbiology, etc) are harder than the actual program? I heard it was.

It's not about hard or easy, but about what you like to do for your career.

Yes, to me, the A&P and Micro. were definately very hard. More than the program itself! Good LUCK! It will be a difficult and grueling time in the program also. But you can do it! Just have good self dicipline!! Lots of hours, homework and late nights!

The classes are difficulty but partly because you are learning new information and then when you start nursing all the pieces come together and it will all make sense that's why the actual nursing seems easier or at least it did for me. You are smart to take the pre-requisites first and then you can concentrate only on the actual nursing, in my class the ones who struggled or failed were the ones who didn't do their pre-requisites first or were taking A & P, microbiology along with the nursing, that's a heavy load! Good luck to ya. FYI : The more Pre-requisites you have out of the way the greater you chances of being accepted into a nursing program.

"Harder" depends on many things. Are you a parent, do you work, have you had Nsg experience like being a CNA? I found Nsg. school to be the hardest thing I ever did. I worked 24 hours a day on school. There are class times, tests, clinical experience, and study, study, study. Be prepared to live, eat,,drink, and sleep school..school. Cancel almost any other life you have. I do't want to discourage you but more people will leave your class than graduate. I work with 2 LPN's who are great nurses and they both flunked out at the end of the 2nd.semester of their RN completion time. Nursing requires more than school, it requires LOVE and DEVOTION. I have been a nurse for 30 years and still love my job, it is a very rewarding career, more positive than anything else I have done. School was worth the time and effort it took. Good luck and as my parents told me "Study hard, Learn lots" I hope you enjoy Nsg. school.

I had almost no trouble with a&p, or micro, but the nursing coarses where more difficult for me. My wife had the opposite problem. Home life definitly plays apart in how well you will do. You must consintrate all of your energy on your studies.
