Question for nurses/nursing students?

In about a year or so I am going to be in the nursing program, I'm just finishing up with some other classes. My question is, right now I don't like needles at all, I mean like..I cringe and bare it but I don't like them. I really want to be a nurse but I'm wondering if I'll have problems giving shots/taking blood, or if i'll just get over it?

If you can cringe and bare it now, I believe you will be fine.
I don't like mucus and when I had to clean trach's, I would heave, gag and my body would just about give up on me. After a good 6 months or so, I could handle the situation I was in. I never let my patients see my reactions! Once you get in your head, you are taking the blood or giving the shot to help and not harm, that will help you alot as well!

I think if you can bare it now, it will get better.

Its pretty much just like anything. The first time you smell.. FOUL smelling stool or urine...... I just about dry heaved and my eyes got all watery. After awhile you get used to it.

I was the same way. That was my thinking before I entered my program. When my nursing department issued me my syringes to draw up stuff and play with them, I got used to them. You will just get accustomed to it and you wont even realize it.
