What pre-requisites do i need to start a nursing program?

What pre-requisites do i need to start a nursing program?

Pre-requisites for nursing programs vary by (1) school and (2) nursing program. The pre requisite courses you will need to take depends on the nursing program you choose. For a bachelor鈥檚 degree, you will have the normal basic courses in: english, math, science, arts and humanities before your begin your nursing courses.

To help you find a school that has a nursing program, I recommend you visit www.collegeboard.com. The College Board is accurate, up to date information, and a well designed college search engine.

I am sorry a direct website link was not available. Here鈥檚 a guide to look up nursing schools. First, go to "www.collegeboard.com". After the page loads, Click on 鈥淐ollege Search Match Maker鈥?under TOOLS (on the left hand-side), then choose 鈥淢ajors and Academics鈥?(near the top), enter 鈥淣ursing鈥?to view a full list of universities that offer nursing as a major. Then select a nursing program that interests you (you can select a few or all nursing programs).

Once you find a school you like, you can obtain their contact information of the school to find out accurate pre-nursing requirements.

It depends on the college, but you will generally have to complete prenursing courses in the areas of chemistry, math, anatomy/biology, and an intro to nursing class. You will also probably need an essay and interview with the college.

Go to webpages of potential colleges and read the catalog...
