Before entering a nursing program besides nursing books, what other items/materials should I get.? |
I know things like nursing books and, etc. But will I need a stethoscope, and etc. If you have already been accepted to nursing school might i suggest a few things. Ok yes...a stethoscope, don't get a super nice one first off...you WILL loose it. Hit your local book store and go to the Nursing books section...most big chain book stores have them. pocket reference books are great to have!! they are not super expensive and they come in handy. they are like 3"x5"...fit right in the pocket of any scrubs out there. They have them for pharmacology, EKG, ACLS algorithms...ect. I believe they have an EKG for dummies or something of that nature out there...those are great to have, so is the EKG made easy and EKG made very easy series. Look for things that are simple and easy for you to read....in books like these LOTS of pictures are good. In my experience it is good to have a few different books (other then your required ones) because ONE of them will make sense to you. GOOD LUCK!!!!! Oh ya..and good pair of shoes!!! Here's a thought... Instead of wasting money on items you may not need, why not wait until you enroll and wait to see what books and materials you will actually need? |
