Qualitative Research in Nursing? |
Help!! I need a kick start. How do I structure a piece of qualitative research to ask why the service I am involved in hasn't got a certain assessment tool. Do I interview, do I give out questionaires? Or to look into it has it got to be a piece of quantitative work. This is for my dissertation. I have the search terms etc but cant pinpoint the exact question. I'm sorry to be vague but don't want tutors cottoning on. Hi Interview or focus groups with open ended questions, enabling you to grasp an understanding of what they are saying and draw from their answers. A short list of questions should be thought of which are open ended, the respondents answers should trigger further questions. Qualitative research is usually face to face interviews, taped and transcribed in full. Questionnaires are more likely to be quantitative and less valid. |
