How do you handle other people's jealousy? Some people are jealous because I'm in nursing school. How should I

respond to the negativity?

I even get e-mails from jealous people here on YA.

Ignore it. Friends and foes alike will throw negativity toward you that they themselves, and it isn't always intentional. Some people can't fathom why their own situations are different than others...why some people get into great jobs when others dont...or great schools, etc. Sometimes I think there is this erroneous assumption that people who go far in life get lucky or were treated preferentially. Sometimes that is true, but more often it is not. I am personally in a ph. d. program right now, but I worked myself sick getting my bachelors and masters and had to fight fiercely every step of the way. I think understanding why jealousy happens is the most important step in dealing with it from other people...but there is little you can do but move past it.

I wouldn't respond at all. People on here probably think that since you're a nurse, you might think you know everything, or are intimidated by you. I'd just not even pay attention to those people.

I've recently found out that an "ex" friend has been saying stuff about me because I'm married, own our home, and we have a new car. She was jealous, when she could have all of those things too if she worked hard enough. None of what I have was given to me, I've had to work hard for it all ( except the husband ). But I finally decided that I wasn't going to let anyone make me feel guilty for my accomplishments in life.

dont respond ur school is way more important im in nursing school also and i use all my possible energy toward my studies.because remember ur building ur career which will build support u need to have a money worry free life

people who r jelose arent gonna live ur life with u so screw them they dont matter..

Watch the pain olympics

Don't worry about other people's jealousy. In the end, you need to do what makes YOU happy!!! Congratulations on being on your way to a successful career!!!
