Does anyone know if you can attend Nursing or Med school?

I stole a checkbook when I was 18 and wrote somebad checks.I"m currently in school, have stayed out of trouble and currently 28. I currently work in a hospital were I"m adored , however I"ve always been a little scared of applying to these programs because of the badge I wear. I guess what I want to know is it possible or has anyone met or heard of anyone going on
to Nursing or Med school with a felony.thanks in advance.

I don't know for sure, but i am an R. N. and over the years worked with some doctors and nurses who were conficted of felonies, dealt with the consequences, went to rehab if ordered ,and were reinstated. I suggest you call the state nursing board and ask if it would be a problem with getting your license after graduation. Then call a college with a nursing program and ask the admissions office if it would be a problem. Or if you prefer to go to pre-med, then med school, call the university and ask the admissions office. I wish you well in moving forward with your plans.

I thought that even felonies no longer show up after 7 or 10 years on your record? You could call your local courthouse and find out about that before you apply for anything. Maybe you can have those records sealed. It can't hurt to try.

Just go ahead and try it.

I may be wrong but I think the only thing that matters is if you have a drug charge and a mentally unstable background.
