Would it be a good Idea to become a CNA during pre nursing since it takes awhile to get into nursing school ?

You might call an adviser. In the program that is offered by the local community college, they are actually requiring the students to have taken and received the CNA license before they can enter into the program.

They enacted this requirement so they could try and narrow the incoming field.

yeah that is what i did...i became a med.assis. and phleb. tech. and it also helps you to prepare for what you are going to go through in nursing school...although nursing school is much more intense

Definitely...I have many nurses that I worked with that were very prepared when they did CNA first before going into nursing.

Absolutely! I am a CNA and we respect nurses who work their way up! This way you would know how hard your aides really work & what to look out for as far as what & how bad aides get by. You will definately benefit from the hands on experince and be ready for almost anything. Where would you want to work? I have worked with the elderly , special needs adults & children. I love them all! Good luck with your degree!
