Do you think it's possible to work FT while attending nursing school... and be a parent ?

am i insane for wanting to do this?

Good luck lady.

No, something has gotta give and it will probably be you. Don't do this to yourself!

nope! but you're gonna need ALOT of help

no..ur making a better life for uself..congrats..although its going to be crazy for a while..in the end it will be all worth it..trust me

Wow, hope you have a good support system. I am a single mom, work like 25 hours a week (waiting tables so I make good money for that), and I take like 7 credits per semester. That is a lot for me. People do it though.

Yes,it's possible, yes, you are insane.Stay at home & raise a decent kid who won't go crazy & shoot up a school or do some other stupid crap, because they were neglected as a child!

Super mom, super student and super impossible.

been there, done that, as a single mom, and graduated with highest honors to boot....it's absolutely possible if you're willing to work for it

NO! you SHOULD be home with the kid!

Do you want someone else to hear the first words? see the first steps? when they get hurt will they cry for you or the babysitter??

Raise the kid, let dad do the working and get your dream job AFTER the kid is raised!

INTERESTING, I HAVE THREE CHILDREN ALL 3 AND UNDER AND WILL BE ATTENDING NURSING SCHOOL THIS JANUARY AND REALLY NEED THE EXTRA MONEY. BUT, MY SCHOOL DISCOURAGES PEOPLE FROM WORKING ESPECIALLY FULL TIME. NO, YOU ARE NOT INSANE, I AM SURE LIKE ME, YOU WANT TO PROVIDE BETTER FOR YOU CHILD/CHILDREN. HOPEFULLY YOU ARE NOT A SINGLE PARENT AND HAVE SOME HELP. DONT GIVE UP, THERE IS ALWAYS A WAY. HAVE FAITH!!!!!!!!!

It's possible, but something is going to suffer--be it your grades, your family, or your job. Nursing school is tough, and you need to have a fresh rested mind each day. I would advise against working at the same time. I am managing as a parent though. Good luck!

What kind of support do you have? Husband? When do you plan on raising your child? I go to school full time with 3 kids. I am lucky to have my hsband work nights so one of us is always with the kids. I don't have to work and couldn't imagine succeeding in school with a fulltime job. If you have to put them in day care to do this I would discourage it. Your children really need their parents more than they need monetary things... Good luck to you and your kid(s)

yOU should just go to school and study but not work because if you chose to have kids then that is your full time job , so you have to do one or the other, when the kids are older they will know you negleted them for money, be a MOM and just do one thing at a time , money does not make a good parent being there does

You owe your kids your best. You only get to raise them once, so don't screw it up. You will never get back the years you neglect them to support them.
If you do choose to do this, and you are married, then your spouse should stay at home and take care of them - at least while they are not in school.
If you are not married, then you need to move in with your parents, so that your kids still have the support they need while you are working on this.
You're not insane for wanting to do this, but you have to priortize and realize that you still have the same number of hours in a day. The day does not expand to fill your desire.

NO !! My daughter did the exact same thing! There were tough times and shes had to rely on friends and family to fill in on some of her responsibilities...being a proud and independent girl, this was hard for her to do. We reminded her of the reasons why, look at the long view, towards the future for you and your child. You can do anything, but sometimes you will need a helping and understanding hand until you complete one task after another. The rewards are always going to come...it just takes time and patience..

Anything is possible if you set your mind to it. It will take commitment, and time budgeting. But, if it's something you want badly enough, you will figure out a way to make it work. It's been done before. My step daughter is going to graduate in another year. She's 35, married and has two kids.

If you're doing nursing school fulltime, it'd be impossible.
