Any treatments for anxiety w/out using meds? I'm in nursing school and don't want side effects from some meds. yoga is great and deep breathing helps me cope with my anxiety. google "relaxation techniques". Try deep breathing. Also, low doses of anxiolytics should not give many side effects. Talk to your MD. ( For me a nice glass of red wine always helps wind down after a long stressful day.) Try some meditation and/or yoga for 15-20 minutes twice a day. It will really help you clear your mind and feel more relaxed. Nursing school is quite hard, isn't it? But just remember than anxiety is all in your mind, and you can control your mind. I have heard B vitamins can help. It is better to be able to deal with it without meds. If you can't, you might have to get meds. Everybody will have some anxiety in school, especially before a test. It will help you to be alert and think quick for the test or listen in class. If you drink or get tranquillizers, you might be too relaxed. If you believe in God, trust Him to help you. If God is with you , who can be against you. Exercise can help get rid of stress. But I think it is more a mental thing. Think of things to help you, like-If I fail this class, I'll just take it over again. It's not the end of the world. Don't worry, don't sweat the small stuff, don't let little things bother you. Think about what 's important in life. It doesn't matter what people think. We all need to learn it. Meditation and yoga are great. As well as deep breathing exercises. They seem to help alleviate my anxiety. Also, I find that working out helps to alleviate it as well. |
