Am I too old to go back to school? I am 46 yrs. old. I would like to go to nursing school but, I'm afraid I mi

might fail, because I was never any good in math, and sometimes I have a hard time understanding things, but not always, I can usually get it right away. and sometimes I'm clumsy!

Yes, sorry you are too old! Your license to learn expired on your last birthday and I'm afraid it's not renewable.

Just kidding! My brother-in-law became an assistant nurse at 62 years young. You will do it too, but at a much younger age!

You can never be too old to go to school

You can do it! Trust me! Just try your best.

You are never too old

I don't think it's a great idea if you're clumsy, that might be an issue.

Otherwise, I enjoyed having older folks in my classes, it's almost like it helped bring the teachers closer to the students.

i say go for it. you can do anything if you put your mind to it.

go for it, the only time you will be too old is when you are 6 feet under

Darling, how old will you be if you don't?
In 1990 a classmate of mine was 50 her daughter 22 and she completed the nursing course. Me, 2005, I attempt it again and get booted out again. I'm chosing a different field. Going to UMBC.

You can never be too old to go to school

go for it, dont worry about things, people can help you

Don't worry, you don't know until you try:) Go for it! If you need extra help, there are tutors or ask your professors, what not. Good luck!

no who cares about all that as long az u can do the work u should b fine.

Wonderful! Noooooo, you are NOT too old! My Mom started college when I did (nursing degree)...I was 28 and she was 46...she hadn't been in school since high school...

Don't worry about failing...most colleges have tutors available or other students will be willing to help you out...if it's something you want to do, then do it...

It's never too late...and it's fantastic that you want to do it...I wish you the best...it took Mom nearly 10 yrs to get her Associates degree, taking a class or two a semester, but she did it and we (her kids) were SO proud.

Go to a community college, they will test you and you can spend a semester taking review classes. They have all kinds of support and tutors to help you.

Go for it.

I am 53 and will be starting a paramedic program in January. I figure I stillgot at least 15 good years of work left in me...and you are even younger.

Go for it.

oh hell no! i'm 43 and back in school myself! it's a bit harder because i still have 2 kids at home and have less energy now. math is also my weak point. if i can do it, anyone can! live your dream, go for it!!! you can do it!!!

No, you are not too old. Regardless of how long it takes you to get your degree/training you are still going to be that age with or without the training. There are several study groups that will be available to you and as far as the clumsy part...you will practice on plenty of dummies and gain confidence. Good Luck!

Hey! You go girl! My two daughters are in college and they have classes with a woman who is 86. Her husband died and she decided to further her education. Go for it!

I say go back not only would you be bettering your self but you would be learning something will benefit so many others. Good luck!!!

don't worry, I'm sure you will do great and you are never too old to go back to school.

You are never to old but I know how you feel I'm 27 and thinking about going to college after being out of school for ten years! It's scary but if I can do it anyone can!! Besides you may have gotten better at the things that were difficult for you in school. Nursing is hard but with such a shortage it can be very rewarding, money and the joy of helping others. Go for it and try not to be scared if you really want to do it you will find a way.

You're never too old to do anything that you really want to do. Maybe you should take some math classes or science classes and see what you think before you jump directly into a nursing program.

Its never to late to learn
Good Luck!
:)

Hey! Are you my older twin?!?!
You're never too old to go to school. Don't let a fear of failing be the reason you don't take an opportunity that may change your life for the better. I, too, was not good in math (I am in Psychology, by the way), but higher education is not like education in high school. people are nicer in colleges. there are people who will probably have a much harder time in math than you. And there are people of all ages in colleges now; and classmates are much more willing to help each other than they were back in the day. Don't think about what you might fail; think about succeeding!!

Take it on issue at a time. Really, I know where you are coming from. Look into how much math is in the program, and maybe just line up a tutor. As for the rest, you can do it! 46 is a cakewalk!
Good luck!

Honestly, you're never too old to go back to school, as a nurse I can tell you that nursing is a great profession and if you have the desire to help people, then I definately think you should go for it!!

Good luck and when the time comes, welcome to the profession!

Youre never to old to go back to school. You will never know unless you try !
