Is it possible to hold a full time job and go to nursing school? |
Any nurses out their that can answer this? In the first couple of years of school, when you're taking basic, non-nursing courses, yes. However, as you move into advanced studies, clinicals and practicums, its going to be VERY hard for you to work full time. If you need to work, you might consider a hospital-based nursing program where you can work (in a lower job) while pursuing your studies; or at least contract to work after completing your studies so that your educational costs are paid for. I wan't a nurse but I went to school full time to be a teacher and worked full time. It is trying at times but you get in this mode..its weird I cant explain. You will do fine if you put your mind to it It's not going to be easy, but it can be done. I've worked with a couple of people who worked full-time and completed nursing school at the same time. yes u can do it yes it is possible. but it is a little tricky. i'm in scrub tech school and that means im in class five days a weak but i work 2-10 shift on fridays and dubbles on saturday and sunday that way i still get 40 hrs a weak. If u set your mind to do it, nobody will stop you |
