I just found out that I got into nursing school. I am very excited. However i need some help with the costs.?

Can anyone tell me how I could get some financial aid. I am no longer eligible for fafsa or mtag.

I got accepted into an associate degree nursing program at a community college.

Scholarships, right now their are many avaliable because of the shortage with nursing. Here is a website I found in about 30 seconds, their are probably many more.

By the way the military paid for my nursing school through the G.I. Bill. Also, I went to a community college down in Texas and it cost like 800$ a semester which was pretty affordable.

Is this LPN school? If not, you should go to LPN school at the technical college. Much much cheaper than going to the university.

Sometimes, if you work for a health care company - say a nursing home chain - they will help you pay for part of your higher education if you contract to work with them following your graduation for a set time.

If you are single, maybe you could get the cost written off if you are a VISTA volunteer or contract to work in an impoverish or underserved place in the world. (Think Northern Exposure)

No doubt, you will have to take out loans. Everyone does. It comes with the territory of bettering your life. You can research some alternative loans.

If nothing else, take a class at a time if you have to. Just don't let this opportuinty pass you by without one helluva fight.

A hospital will normally be willing to partially or completely finance your education, in exchange for working for them for a few years. They may have information on their website. Otherwise go ahead and contact them. They will do this for grad school too.

Quite a few states have nursing scholarships also.

You shouldn't have to pay a dime for your nursing education.

Go to the financial aid office in your school as well as that particular college and also several of your local banks.

Best thing to do is apply for some scholarships @ www.fastweb.com, or within your school, Loans @ a bank or through your school. Good LUCK!
