Is there anybody outhere who has completed nursing school and ended up not liking the profession?

I have known a few that couldn't stand patient care. One got into research and another went into administration. I also know a couple lawyers who had been nurses.

Actually, it's not that bad if you keep a good sense of humor (*critical!*) and after a couple of years it actually gets a bit fun, honestly ;)

I did not complete it because I realized the error of my choice after the first year(2 yr program). My reason for going was to finish relativly quick , get into a field of high demand , and make good money. I realized if I didn't really like it it didn't matter how much I made. I discussed it with my husband and he said , " If you could wake up tomorrow and be anything you wanted what would it be?" and I said an Elem . Ed teacher. , I quit nursing school and changed Majors. I will due my student teaching in Fall 2007. You have to do what is right for you , don't worry about what family or friends or anyone else thinks or says. You are the one who has to live your life. If you see yourself as a nurse and loving it ... go for it. If not ask yourself the question my husband asked me and find what you feel passionate about.

I actually went from being a lawyer to being a nurse. Long story, but I work in the OR, make more money and have more fun than I did as a lawyer. It's a myth that lawyers make a pile of money.

Have you actually experienced working in the field or is your nursing experience only during clinicals? Going through nursing school is stressful and difficult...I had a classmate graduate with me and pass the boards and all...after a couple of years she went into a different profession...it takes a special person to work this field....there are many stressors in this profession and many people end up hating it.....I have been a nurse for 14 years now....there are many days of shortages and so many stressful days..it can be unbelievable at times, but being able to actually make a difference in people's lives makes it all worthwhile

Of course there are!!! Usually here in the phillppines though if you ask me!! We are freshly graduate students of a local H.S. And most us got nursing by our parents choice and all. The reason you say????..... itz just for fucki'n dollars and to send us abroad to the US of A!! in order to help our help folks in their financial needs!!!
