Started, a new job, and Im starting nursing school. Problem is Im nervous? |
as hell. I feel so anxous and scared I willl not be able to handle my 12 credits and part time job. I feel a lot of pressure. I am so shy and I cant speak up naturally it is hard for me. How can I naturally fit in with others and make this work. Fast forward your brain to your future. You've completed your training, your 12 credits, your part time job. You have a real full time job as a nurse. You're treating patients. There is a patient who is very sick, maybe in severe pain. Maybe you bring them medication that relieves their sickness and/or their pain. Maybe you just check on them & hold their hand for a little bit. The patient will look at you and say, "Thank you." That's why you are doing this. AND that's why you will get through your training, the working your *** off, the being so tired you can't think straight. Nurses are needed so badly right now. We just don't have enough of them. Let me be the first to say thank you. I am very grateful that someone is willing to do this. GOOD LUCK & BLESSINGS!!!!!!! Just relax and be yourself. Just go with the flow and have fun with it. I know this is very serious, it's nursing school for goodness sakes, but you have to let loose a little bit, you will do fine. The truth is hun everyone who is starting off as a new nurse will being feeling exactly the same way, so your anxious state will not really show. Go in head high and after the first day you will wonder what you were worried about x x Yes. Hang in there and you will quickly become more comfortable. Thanks in advance for choosing your career. Think of it this way...I would be more concerned about YOU, if you were not nervous! As a former EMS instructor, it became very clear who would succeed and who would not simply by their attitudes the first few days. The ones with the egos...didn't usually make it through once the tough stuff started coming (like the first time they actually saw real blood). |
