Does a US citizen who attended nursing school abroad have to take the local boards before taking the CGFNS? no - not the local state boards.... 1st go through the horrible cgfns either certificate program ( has test) or evaluation program depending on state you wish to license in and then the state board will hopefully give you att ( authorization to test) for taking nclex to become licensed...please be aware that each state is different and you can get licensed in any state you wish and then apply for that license to endorse you becoming licensed in another state regardless of where you live. i have heard that easiest state to get license in ( least amount of hassle and paperwork) is new york ...good luck and try to avoid certificate program with cgfns as it takes a lot of time & hassle |
