What kind of summer job can I have if I am in nursing school? |
Well, I need to look for a summer job, but I don't know exactly what I can do. Can I be a nurse aid? Do you know of anything a student nurse can do? Try to find a summer internship for student nurses at a hospital in your area. MANY of them offer these kinds of programs, which would be a huge advantage to your career to have this experience. You would be paid, and in some cases, can earn credit at school towards any preceptorship that might be required of you. I would sure think that there would be demand for an aspiring nurse in nursing school. I would talk with the school and get their feedback. They are probably contacted regularly by folks seeking services. Try to get a job in a hospital or clinic in the dietary or another department of the hospital or clinic. That's what my daughter did and she learned a great deal from it and made much needed money. Good luck sweetie!! depends on where you are but if you are in nursing school, you should have been certified as nurses aid, so you could probably be an aid or get a job as a receptionist at a hospital Contact a local nurse registry and tell them what your most recent experience in nursing school has been. It's possible that you could get a job as a nurse's aide. If you work for a registry then you can say how many days a week you're able to work and what shifts you prefer. Remember that if you commit yourself to be on-call this way then you must make sure you are definitely available to work and that you can be reached by phone on those days otherwise the registry will drop you like a hot potato. I went to India for and worked voluntarily at a clinic in a Hill Station. The Indian Doctor there ran a small charity hospital an we also visited very poor villages with no sanitation, electricity or clean water. It was a real eye opener and very satisfying. The hospital I am employed at offers summer internship which is a paid postion called student nurse tec. Many hospitals offer it but you have to apply and be interviewed. Often scholerships and such go with the position. Many students often become clerks while going to school which is higher paid the an aide but less experience nursing wise. |
