My husband got stationed in Korea, I'm in Nursing School, going when graduate. Is there nursing jobs there? |
He gets his orders on the 20th of this month, and we find out exactly where we will be in Korea. I graduate in May, and I'm not sure if I need to take my licensing exam here or if I can take it there. Anyone know that is a RN currently or know anyone that is that's been stationed over there? Thanks so much for the help! Unless you husband has an assignment considered "Command Sponsored" service members are not given orders to cover their family members accompanying them to Korea. In some areas this means the wife is not authorized entry onto the military base, or use of the hospital or the base shopping. If you try to get a position with the US mililitary hospitals there, you will probably be contracted for a period of time, (usually at least 1 year) which would put you there longer than your husband. However, in most cases the military hospitals are staffed by military RNs. Additionally, if you are contracted with a US organization, even in a foreign country, you would need to maintain licensure in a state in the US. Korea used to be an unaccompanied tour. Are you sure you can go? |
