Im so upset. I may fail nursing school. I don't have the average I should. I? |
am so stressed out. I study and study but my average is only maybe a 75% I need a 77. I have to do extremely well on the final and everything is riding on this. The pressure is going to kill me. My family will be so disappointed and they have helped me out. I owe loan money. I am with you on this one. My mother-in-law (an RN) describes it as boot camp. It truly is! I'm in my first semester of nursing school and the pressure is tremendous. But why do you need a 77 average? In most you need a 75 or above in lab and theory. Have you ever tried setting up a study group? I know of someone who was failing the first semester while studying alone, but then she got together a study group and passed! I also suggest signing up at a website called "medspub.com". It's exclusively for nursing students and they teach you the best ways to study for the critical thinking tests. They also have tons of practice tests with rationales. Also the back of almost all of my nursing books come with CD's that have practice tests on them. Since most test questions come from the required books anyway, it may be worthwhile to use those CD's. Take courage! you may just need practice picking the "best" answer out of 3 right ones. You definately have a recoverable average. You need to relax - first, you can't fail nursing school, only some classes. You may need to repeat a class or a few classes, but you will pass them if you keep trying. They want you to be successful. It may cost more to take a class over, but you will do better the second time, and the end result is you will have a career that will pay you well as long as you need it to. I had to repeat statistics to keep my grade point average high enough - it happens all the time. Just stick with it and don't quit. Quitters will not be nurses. |
