I'm a new graduate of nursing school. Which is the best way to look for job?

Where do I take confidence from?

You should have no problem at all in today's marked nursing shortage. What sort of work might you enjoy? Where would you like to live? Your school should have counselors for recent graduates. Talk with them. They usually have a long list of job offers. Create a sharp resume and keep it updated. Keep up with continuing education classes. Talk to area hospital adminstrations. Also check home-health agencies, physician's offices, schools, dialysis centers, insurance companies, and any large employers.

Congratulations! With our degree, it's certainly not hard to find a job. You can walk in anywhere and get hired on the spot, no problem! Pick one of the best hospitals in your area and apply. Go in there very neatly dressed with a resume. Trust me, you'll be hired that afternoon.

You should have plenty of jobs available. Now get that bedpan to room 220, on the spot......

Congrats, our field is one of the best, you can go just about anywhere you'd like, nurses are needed everywhere! Look and apply online, most major hosp. (if that's where you'd like to work) only take applications online. Don't forget about homecare, hospice, etc. So many opportunities! As for your confidence, it'll come..everything is scarey at first..my first day I thought I was going to faint when I passed my first pill! Just remember you put alot of time and energy into this...you'll be fine! Good luck!

I am going to give you a suggestion that I feel strongly you've gotten many times over from your nursing instructors. Go to a hospital and work at least one year in the acute setting. m/s, tele, dou, doesn't matter. It's not easy. Yet, as a new grad, ...the experience is so needed before you decide to specialize. Your skills will be fined & tuned here. Oh, & contrary to what another responder wrote you,...it doesn't need to be the best hospital. Sometimes, the 'old school' hospitals, general hospitals, teaching hospitals, what ever you want to refer to them as...is where you will get the foundation of the best skills of your nursing career. That is where you will gain the confidence you are looking for. Good luck! :)
