A friend and I attend nursing school together, we have to practice different methods on each other, but my?

friend is a bit self concious, you see when she was a young teeny bop, I think she said that she was 13 at the time, she had attempted suicide for reasons I will not broadcast to the world. The thing is she has these really noticable slash marks from her suicide attempts on her arm, it does not look very pretty, does anyone have any idea how she can cover her arm when doing practice on one another( such as when we have to take one anothers blood pressure).
Your ideas would be much appreciated,

Thank you! worth 10 points.

She should wear long sleeves or use cosmetic cover up that matches her skin. Depending on how big, she could wear a bandage.

if you already know about them why is she self conscious around you? or do you have to do this in front of others? i would just suggest wearing a long sleeve shirt. there isn't much you can do to cover up scars make up wise. you might want to suggest using mederma on her scars to lighten them and make their appearance less noticeable. i had some scars on my legs that were pretty bad and that helped. i have also heard that coco butter helps but i personally do not know how well.

wear a wristband? or tell her that its ok make her feel
comfortable on her appearance.

thin long sleeves under her scrubs should help

well having problems and getting over them and moving on shows a good start to heal for her...but when taking blood pressure and stuff the arm you know has to be exposed and if you are good friends with her and its just you and her that shouldn't bother her...its someting that happened a long time ago and now she is better and stronger for it. so just help her know its ok and ppl. make mistakes...don't help her hide it help her know is ok for ppl. to see and most adults will understand..it can be her way of showing ppl. that you can heal and get over bad things in your life and move on...good luck to you and her you sound like a good friend..
