Looking for information about a nursing school in Banner Elk, NC 1944-47? Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk, NC, has a nursing school. As far as I can tell it's the only one that's ever been there. The university that I attended almost closed its doors during World War II because of the men going to war instead of college. It was saved from complete destruction by starting a nursing school there and that kept the doors open. I would suspect that ASU, only about 15-20 miles away had a similar problem. You might also find that ETSU had the same problem |
