I currently go to nursing school and wanted to know what i can do to get more financing(single mom w/ bills)?

I am trying to get more financing also and the financial aid office told me to get a private loan. a private loan can be through your any bank, and may have a fixed or variable rate. the maximum amounts also vary. like a stafford loan it can be deffered until you graduate.
