A friend of mine is graduating from nursing school, and good gift ideas? No gift cards, cash etc...GOOD gifts |
She's 31 and graduating next week. She's going to be a nurse in the prenatal unit. She likes to go to the gym, and other than that, she just works really hard. Any ideas? a nice warm cozy pair of pj's and slippers, and a bath set so she can relax from her hard day's work. What about a nice stethoscope? Or even a set of scrubs that they wear as uniforms at the hospital today? If you know what size she wears I'm sure she would appreciate that. a really nice stethoscope is a great gift. Uniforms and/or nursing shoes are great ideas as well. a nurses watch, you know the ones that you attach to your shirt/uniform. very useful for a nurse. How about a day at the spa? Sounds like she needs it! a poster of elle driver Well if you really want to get her something good find out what things she minght need for her job. digital Merck Manual with subscription, sound enhanced stethoscope, gift certificate to a good uniform store, one of those digital pda thingies...3 our of four pretty pricey I'm afraid. you should get her like something funny some people arnt always serious Nurses are always bit-ching about not having enough money!! Guess you could buy something she normally spends her money on, maybe uniforms, comfortable custom made shoes, industrial strength-steel reinforced bras. Why the hell would you ask a question like that here when no one knows your friend and you don't want to give the obviously useful things?? I like what the other person said about PJ's and slippers and bath stuff. Every nurse wants to relax after being on her feet all day. A pedicure would be great too. How about a leather bound agenda/datebook/address book combo, so she can keep her schedule, checkbook, miscelaneous stuff all in one place? I'm sure in the beginning it might be difficult for her to adjust if she has a rotating schedule or works at night- so having a pretty leather thingy would be durable and practical too. This might sound a little silly, but in prenatal, everyone is excited about the babies coming. They like to see happy childlike things. Buying her one of the uniform tops with a cute child friendly design or a little clip-on animal is a fun idea. I'm not a nurse, but I would think a nice gift would be something that she doesn't already have, but could use in her nursing on a regular basis. I suspect she already has a stethoscope, but if not, that would be an obvious choice. I'd say talk to another nurse that you know and ask her what she would have liked to receive. |
