I am in nursing school. I am so close to finishing. But I am exhausted.? |
I am stale, fried, fatigued. How do I get my ambition, drive and desire back to finish. Unfortunatly, my grades are showing it. I am so close, but yet so far. Janet, u are a success story, just go and prove it. I'd love you to be my nurse. And think of the global job opportunities. Marry me!!!lol girl finish because in the end it will be well worth it...just think about your future and how this is the career that you wanted to do you already made it this far so don't give up now I totally relate to this I graduated about ten months ago. Try to get involved with study groups so that studying can also be a little social, I know I felt like I had no life at all with working, class and studying. Also talk to senior or recent grads to reinforce why you chose nursing and that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. And finally talk with your faculty advisor or some other faculty that you respect and like. Good luck I know it is hard I have several friends going throught the same thing, but try and think what got you to started going in to nursing. Take some time for yourself here and there but dont lose focus, your goal is close and think of what pleasure it will bring you when you achive it. If you see no pleasure in achiving it but still feel you need to do it, start thinking of ways to reward your self after you get this done (a party) share this with friends in the class say that you can only have it with them after they pass, and work with them to help you through this. Some of them are feeling the same way. Think of all the money you are going to make! But most of all, think of all those who you are going to help once you graduate. Just for the fact you are almost finished is all you need! The finish line is just ahead, don't drop the baton now. Take vitamins. Get at least six hours sleep each night. Eat five or six small healthy meals throughout the day and make sure you are getting enough protein. Get your eight glasses of water per day. Add some raisins to your diet. Get your family to help out with chores and pamper you a little. Exercise for 30 minutes per day. Pray about your situation. Picture yourself with that diploma in hand. Think about reaching this goal and how good you will feel when you are done. Remind yourself that your suffering is almost over. Assign yourself some sort of treat to look forward to upon completion of nursing school. A mini-vacation, whatever. Then remember your treat. Take it one step at a time, one day at a time but keep moving forward toward this goal. go out & have a good time with some friends once a week or so... make time for this.... and really think about your goal in mind. you are about to be a nurse, which is one of the most needed of people in the world! if that doesn't help, think about your alternative... working a job that gets you no where and pays horribly... not to mention, something you hate, but must stick to in order to pay your bills... viscous cycle! |

if you are a person who is compassionate, willing to help people. and caring to others it is an easy study but if youare the other way then it is hard! ...Depends on who you ask. IMO, the content itself was not very hard, but the quantity of information and work that was expected (reading 5-10 chapters per week per class, writing 5-10 page papers, do... i used to be - now i'm a school nurse and loving it... study hard and read the NCLEX questions carefully (without reading too much into them) and good luck! ...You can wait until the last minute, but I'd take the one that gave you an offer if the other one doesn't respond. You have plenty of time to search for another job that would work better... Study groups are what got me through nursing school!! I had the same trouble as you. It's tough material, alot to absorb. After awhile my brain would just shut off & I couldn't focus.... I went to LPN school for one semester in Louisiana. How was it? Like being on a roller coaster and you can't get off. We had a test every day. We had 6 subjects and we had a test in one ... a nice warm cozy pair of pj's and slippers, and a bath set so she can relax from her hard day's work. ...You should work with the newborn babies :). They are the best. Congrats on graduating. ... |
