Any nurses out there? please tell me what the nursing school interview is like. I was told that I would be? |
there for 3 hours for the interview. why would I be there so long? I am nervous. please tell me. Interviews to get into a school usually involve talking to the financial aid officers, and that takes up a lot of the time. Even if you already have the loan lined up, they're required to review certain info with you before they can recieve your federally funded student loan dollars. So plan on a big part of it being the ins and outs of student loans. Also there will probably be a short test to determine your written and communication skills. There'll possibly be a tour of the school. They will also talk to you honestly about why you want to be a nurse. They try to weed out anyone who's not serious or is getting into it for the wrong reasons; the school can get penalized if a high number of students with student loans drop out. |

Janet, u are a success story, just go and prove it. I'd love you to be my nurse. And think of the global job opportunities. Marry me!!!lol ...if you are a person who is compassionate, willing to help people. and caring to others it is an easy study but if youare the other way then it is hard! ...Depends on who you ask. IMO, the content itself was not very hard, but the quantity of information and work that was expected (reading 5-10 chapters per week per class, writing 5-10 page papers, do... i used to be - now i'm a school nurse and loving it... study hard and read the NCLEX questions carefully (without reading too much into them) and good luck! ...You can wait until the last minute, but I'd take the one that gave you an offer if the other one doesn't respond. You have plenty of time to search for another job that would work better... Study groups are what got me through nursing school!! I had the same trouble as you. It's tough material, alot to absorb. After awhile my brain would just shut off & I couldn't focus.... I went to LPN school for one semester in Louisiana. How was it? Like being on a roller coaster and you can't get off. We had a test every day. We had 6 subjects and we had a test in one ... a nice warm cozy pair of pj's and slippers, and a bath set so she can relax from her hard day's work. ... |
