I'm not sure if it's different in every state or not.
I know you need lots of math. My sister tried for that too but had to drop out for financial reasons. But I remember she had to have algebra.
of course you will need your highschool diploma. Some places my take a GED some won't. Depends on your school and your state.
But you have to be sympathetic and caring. I've met some that never learned this - but that's besides the point.
You will need a lot of education in medicines. You will have to understand terms that are used by Drs.
It can be 2 or 3 yr program and here in Maine at least they make you be a CNA for at least 2 yrs before they even let you apply for RN or LPN

You need education regardless of what type of nurse you want to me. By what type I mean: medical assistant-usually a short-period course like a trade school, CNA-crash course, I think shorter than assistant, RN-an associates degree.
