Is nursing school worth it? Or what about real estate? |
I want to change majors to an industry where people are needed. What do you say? What are the fastest growing jobs? -- A list of the occupations projected to grow the fastest is available at http://www.bls.gov/emp/emptab21.htm. The question is can you see youself doing the job for the next few years and enjoying it. Or what is it you would like to do. Nursing is a Noble profession.... do have the heart to do it ? Nurses will ALWAYS be needed...real estate varies with the market. Also, many real estate jobs are really sales jobs...you have to ask yourself whether you want to be a salesperson or not. yes, nursing school is worth it and it is a growing job Nursing isn't something that you just do because people need help. It takes a special kind of person to do it, someone that can stand even the nastiest things. I'm in my second semester of nursing school and it's not easy but it's definitely rewarding. It takes a lot to gross me out and I've almost gotten sick a couple of times. Now, not all types of nursing deal with the blood and guts but the thing to remember is that while you're in school you have to experience all types. I am in Nursing School right now. It is up to you to decide whether it is worth it or not. Nursing school is very demanding. You have to give up a lot of your time, not only for study purposes, but doing clinical work as well. You really have to have a tough skin, because you'll have patients telling you off as well as instructors and nurses you will be working with during clinical. For me, I can't see myself doing anything else. Nursing is a very rewarding career on both a professional and emotional level and it is also a dynamic career. There are so many different fields of nursing so you'll never be bored. There is always something to move on to. I suggest you try it out and if it isn't for you then that's all you can do. But never give up, because there may be many times you'll feel like doing so. Hope this helps. A word of caution. Do nursing only if you want to, you enjoy helping people, you're patient and your heart is set on it. If you are doing it for any other reason other than that, you're going to hate being a nurse. Nursing school is well worth it. Stick with nursing school because you will always have a job. I also suggest after you finish nursing school to pursue obtaining your realestate license. I believe that people should always know how to do more than one job. Be a jack of all trades (if possible). And Nursing pays well, you can always do private duty and choose the shift you want,,work nursing homes, specialize for OB or ER..good and noble profession. Nurse No doubt! Well real estate may make you rich but there's no guarantees and there are so many realtors out there! Nursing school guarantees you can get a job somewhere but occasionally not where you're currently living. Nursing can be hard work but can be very personally rewarding and there are a lot of different types of nurses. My mother was a nurse when my father was in the air force and she was able to work almost everywhere she went. Nurses will always be needed, and they make good money in the market here (Texas)...if you need any further info, you can visit this site |
