Starting Nursing school on June is there anyplace that I can get a head start on what it will be like?

Im just wanting a book to let me know what ive gotton my self into by becoming a CNA. I really want to do this but i kinda want to know what to expect

okay yeah i guess its really not nursing school becase just for now im just going for a CNA then going on to be an RN. but what are somethings i should look forward too?

I went to a school that teaches the CNA nursing school
it cost about two thousand dollars...
i was taught all there was about cna and i took the test and passed..i also worked two weeks at a nursing home as part of my clinical...i had to pass a state certification to be a state registered cna...it was not hard but you had to know a lot of skills and bookwork too.

i work giving respite to senior citizens and will not ever work in a nursing home as a cna you do all the grunt work...but i will work one on one in someones home to help them out.

Some nursing homes will pay you to go to school while you are working for them and they will also pay for your classes and even the $125.00 it cost to take the test..Check out your local nursing homes..
Good Luck...its not a job for the weak or lazy...especially if you work in a nursing home or a hospital...good luck

I'm confused, are you going to nursing school like for LPN or RN, or are you taking a CNA class? CNA is nothing like what LPN's and RN's do. (In long term care the CNA washes, toilets, feeds people, takes vitals...; the LPN/RN passes meds, changes dressings, monitors health issues).

A CNA is a good place to start with out speeding to much time or money. I'm in nursing school right now for my RN, i already have my CNA, and their are a lot of people who drop out 3-4 semesters into it be cause they realizes they don't like cleaning pooh off someone or don't like sick people.

Look for any biographys on nursing.

Vlolunteer at the hospital

Check your library or local bookstore. Or talk to someone who is a CNA. My daughter worked in that capacity for 4 years and it was hard on her back. It requires a lot of lifting. She went on to get a BA in business/computers.

When someone says Nursing school they are usually referring to an RN. A CNA is nothing close to being a nurse. Just thought you should know just in case you were thinking you were going to be a real nurse. A CNA provides care for patients in a hospital or nursing home setting such as bathing, cleaning, and changing bedpans and diapers. All of which are tasks that may seem menial, but are all important

Okay, okay everyone including me has le you know that a CNA is nothing like a nurse. Try going to a bookstore or library and get a book, they have a lot of books. Also try getting an entry postion at a nursing or assisted living home. They may even front some of the costs if they like you!
