I am a single mother and I am in $6,000 IN DEBT PLUS i HAVE A $400 CAR PAYMENT AND GO TO NURSING SCHOOL? |
wHAT do I do should I just drop out of school or what and get a crappy job again and put my dreams aside forever? Could you contact a debt consolidator or couselor? You can use student loans to pay off the debt and then its deffered until you graduate. Get with a debt couselor and a finacial aid counselor before you drop out. go get social services assistance don't be proud ,your family pays taxes into it--don't they? you'll always have debt....accept that. Car payment sounds a lot, is it an expensive car, why dont you sell it and get a cheaper one, might help, dont give up on your dreams. If it makes you feel better, im a single father that is about 10K in debt with a 489 car payment (and insurance, rent, food, health insurance... the whole lot) I live paycheck to paycheck. I stay at the same place to build experience on my resume since that is the only thing holding my career back. Sometimes you gotta struggle through hardships to come out on top. Keep your head up, im sure deep down you are strong enough to overcome this rough patch. student loans! that is how i did it 13 years ago. almost done paying them off now. there are lots to choose from. go to your schools finantial aid office and ask about them. another option would be the military. they might give you a monthly payment and pay for school for a certain amount of service after you graduate. any of the armed forces recruiters could help you wiht that. hope it works out! apply for jobs in nursing.there are many places that still accept a nurse! even if they didnt get a degree and what not!!!!hurry apply you need to figure out why you have so much debt and why you need a 400 dollar car payment, otherwise dropping out and putting you dreams aside forever will be a waste of time and money. My mother was a single mom who took care of two children (one adopted). She got her Master's in Nursing going FT while working FT at the hospital. Earned Income Tax Credit. If you've worked for the past year, it should help substantially. Don't blow that money use it wisely to reduce some debt and try to reduce some payments by restructuring. |
