Does anyone know of scholarships or grants for people wanting to go to nursing school?

I already have a BS in another field and have been working for over 10 years. I am over 40 and looking to change my career into nursing.

I have seen ads in my local paper for hospitals willing to pay tuition. Nursing is a critical shortage in almost every state. Do some research and see if you have a local hospital that is willing to pay for your education in exchange for your loyalty when you graduate.

Hi, I am a nursing student in Philadelphia,Is this for real? Do hospitals actually pay for your education in exchange for your loyalty when you graduate?...If so how would I go about adressing this question to my local hospitals? Report It

Depending on how much money you make you might be able to get a pell grant from the federal goverment. You can fill out an application online. First you have to get a pin number from them. go to u.s.goverment of eduaction and apply for a fafsa.

Some hospitals will pay your tuition up front if you have already worked for them for 6 months or so and sign a contract (usually the same amount of time you are in school)

There are a number of financial aid resources for adult students who want to get a degree in nursing. Here's a nursing scholarships directory: http://myonlinenursingdegree.com/healthc...

And here's a more comprehensive resource with excellent information about financial aid, grants, and other means to afford to retuen to college:

Best wishes!
