Is it wise to work while in nursing school? |
How safe is it to work a full-time job while attending nursing school? It's virtually impossible to work full time unless you had a flexible schedule that included nights and weekends. The courseload for nursing is heavy - although you usually only take 6-8 nursing credits per semester, those 6-8 credits FEEL like 12-15. There is a lot of paper writing, research, group projects, etc. that need to be done. You are in classes for almost a full day two to three days per week, plus one day of clinical. And that's just nursing courses - if you need any general education courses for graduation, you should try to get those all completed before starting the nursing core if at all possible. Wow! I don't believe that that's feasible. The coursework in and of itself requires a great deal of studying and memorizing. I would be concerned about burn-out and exhaustion. no...maybe very part-time ...you have clinicals |
