How do I deal w. pressure w. friends in nursing school? |
I've worked so hard the past 4 years to focus on school and get into nursing school. To be a nurse around 23, 24 is a big goal of mine and since i've got accepted it's been my top priority. I've had to deal with kids my age (21 crowd) trying to get me to go out clubbin, drinkin, partyin but i haven't. It was never really my thing and I've gotten pressure by turning it down. Yes, there are times i do have fun but it's been mild. ever since she broke up w her long time boyfriend she's been going through this weird phase where she wants to go out all the time and everytime i'm out w. she'll get drunk and guess who gets to take care of her? Also she'll put all her insecurities on me and it's not fun. I love her dearly but I don't want her ruining anything w. school because it worked soo hard to get here. Just party some other time and get things like: Clean your house or apartment, go to the store, do your errands. Tell yourself if you get them all done tonight, you can go out tomorrow night. That is called "delayed gratification" in psychology terms. Do it. You will feel so good about yourself tomorrow! well just do things at home with her.like watch movies, cook some dinner, order some pizza.if you must go out dont let her order alcoholic beverages ,order some soda or something.dont let her drag u down. |
