**Nurses**... Were you apprehensive and squeamish prior to nursing school and if so, did it dissipate??

I have registered for Nursing school at the age of 43, been in the Nurse Recruitment/ Marketing & Staffing businness for almost 15 years and wanted/ Need a career change. So I registered for Nursing school but am second guessing my decision. The reason, I became very squeamish over my 3RD PICC line procedure. Maybe because I had a very bad experience with one breaking and getting lost in my body? Also, It seems I have tolerence for blood, wounds or what ever... as long as it is not a loved one, or myself. Do you think this is nomal, and that I should pursue Nursing? Did you have any apprehension of your own and did it become easier to deal with as time passed? Thank you and Thanks for being a Nurse, we sure need many more in this country as you know. God bless.

I am in medical school and I have felt squeamish at times. Everyone has there "thing". I don't like ophthalmology. I have friends who don't like joints. It is personal and everyone is grossed out by something.

Eat a good meal before hand. It helps to not feel as faint. Don't lock your knees either when you are observing a procedure. Some of my classmates have fainted. (But they are all still in school!)
