Nursing school?????? nurses help!!!!!!!?

ok long story short i am a junior in high school and am going to be going to nursing school right after i graduate. my parents are going to be moving to a city in the middle of nowhere so i cant live with them and go to school because there is no schools over there so i was wondering how hard if possible will it be to support yourself while in nursing school? i am going to go to denver school of nursing if that city makes a differance.

There is financial help available. Sometimes it requires filling out the Financial Aid Form which will mean help from your parents with income and tax return info. There are almost always scholarships available. As already mentioned see your school counselor and contact the Financial Aid and Nursing departments at DSN. If you must work, I recommend working in a hospital as a CNA. It will tell you a lot about how you're going to like nursing.

It can be done. I worked full-time and went to nursing school full time (also in Denver) and that was with a family at home. I worked night shifts Fri, Sat, Sun from 7p-7a. This made school on Monday mornings pretty tough. I remember falling asleep during a few Med/Surg exams. Not recommended but it's amazing what we can accomplish if we are determined. My motto became "B's get degrees." And don't worry about not being an "A" student. It's well known in this profession that the best students rarely make the best nurses. Common sense, compassion and critical thinking are what it takes to be a good nurse.

Good Luck.

Ask the school for any scope on financial help, let them know about your situation and goals
