Nursing school.....?

I am applying for nursing school but I am in a financial bind! I applied for all loans and grants that I possibly qualified for, NOW im still lefy with a 4,000 balance. My credit is not great and my mom and dad WONT co sign for me because they just bought me a new car..

I wasn't aware that I would be left with this 4,000 dollar difference to cover all schooling costs.. or I would have asked them to pay for that instead of buying me a car.. which really could have waited....

What are some alternatives that I could look into? Someone told me to try Sallie Mae, but I already have a federal loan thry Citi Bank...What can I do??!!! I want to be a nurse =[

Have you checked with the school? some states and schools offer additional grants for nursing students. Also check with your local hospitals, they often have programs where you can work minimal hours doing any job at the hospital and they will help payfor school. Here where I live you can work 12 hours a week (in the kitchen, gift shop, info desk....) and sign a contract to work for same hosp. one year after school and they pay up to 4500 a year towards nursing school, and after you complete first semester of the program they try to place you in a job that gives you some hands on experience, like a nurse assistant.

sell the car.
