Can a medical assistant give ingections legally without formal training? |
Only reason I ask, is when at my doc's office I overheard the receptionist for my doc talking to other worker, telling her how much she hates giving flu shots, but she doesn't mind the others (?). I had always thought that only a doctor or nurse could legally give ingections. Does anyone know? I'm an MA graduate, we learned injections, blood draws, EKG certifications, etc. I don't see why you wouldn't be able to. Basically the only thing an MA can't do is an IV. Yes, if it is under the direction of a doctor nurse. |
