I am a full time ODP student (same as nursing students) who pays 拢70 pounds a week commuting to london.?

I recieve an NHS bursary. They tell me I can only claim travel expenses if the hospital I train at is further away from the uni, and I would only be able to claim for the difference. British rail tell me I cannot get a student discount on weekly season tickets. A young persons travecard doesn't discount on season tickets or tickets at peak times. Is there anybody or any organization that could help me with travel costs. Many thanks.

You don't say where you are studying. If your main college is within the M25 you can get 30% off season tickets by applying to TfL for a student discount Oyster card.

We all need help with our travel costs but we're in Rip off Britain. What do you expect?

Where are you travelling from?
Ask your local station if they sell a 'Zone u1234' standard day return. These are available to use a Young Persons railcard on, subject to the minimum fare of 拢16.
So if you're only in London 4 days or less a week its worth doing that.
It gives you a tube journey within zones 1-4 in London.
So, as an example, you could go from Bishops Stortford to Euston Square for 4 days for 拢64 instead of a season ticket of about 拢90.
And there's nothing to stop you buying more than one at a time to save you having to queue up each day.

Alternatively, see if you can get to the hospital without going through Zone 1.
