Will i get a job in nursing?

I really want to go to uni and become a nurse but was woundering if I will actually get a job in the NHS after my training.

Also woundering what the training is like I have read all the information on the uni websites but was woundering how hard the assesments are and what they envolve and what do you learn in class

Thanks

Hi im a student nurse at leeds uni in my third year, although it seems like theres no jobs going, it is a profession which is always needed so hopefully we will get jobs.
And the assessments are hard but acheivable in my group there has only been 2 dropouts in the first few weeks of first year so its not impossible.
We have 7 modules each year, these can be assessed through exams, essays, presentation, health promotion activities and profiles when your in the clinical area.
It is physically and emotionally draining but worth it, you have to be totally sure you want it though coz you dont wanna go through 3 years of hard work for nothing a few girls in my class dont want to do nursing when they finish, I think its such a shame after 3 long years. lol hope that helps!

Of course you can get a job in NHS after training in fact some of your training will be in NHS hospital included in course.

Uh yea... there is a nursing shortage and you will get a job.

I'm majoring in nursing (I have a couple years to go) but I haven't started clinicals yet. The program is hard and it should be. It depends on the school, though, so check with whatever school you want to go to.

You'll get a job. There are more jobs now than there were last year because now the NHS trusts mostly have cleared their debts which is why the jobs and posts went previously.

The training is not hard as such. They dont want ot fail you, they want qualified, skilled, competent nurses to come out of it.

Go to an open day at a uni and speak to some of the students there that are already on the course, they will be truthful believe me.

I beleive a lot of the assessments are written, some practical skills such as injections etc are assessed both in practice in uni and on placements.

its very admirable wanting to be a nurse but the peanuts they offer as pay.. will leave you struggling...the public don't give a **** about nurses poor wages...do something else....the assessments are dependent on whether you do the degree or diploma really...go to a uni offering the training and have a chat with them...
