The difference between a nurse practitioner versus a GP doctor... for training and qualifications? |
The difference between a nurse practitioner versus a GP doctor... for training and qualifications? A nurse practitioner (NP) is a registered nurse who has completed specific advanced nursing education (generally a master's degree) and training in the diagnosis and management of common medical conditions. Nurse practitioners provide a broad range of health care services. A nurse practicioner is a registered nurse with a masters degree. A general practicioner doctor is a medical doctor with far more training. The difference in years of training is about 4 to 6 years. Suffice it to say, most GP's are more qualified and trained to treat medical problems. |
