What job should I Chose Hairdressing or nursing?? |
I am a qualified Hairdresser but for the last year have worked in a Nursing home Caring for elderly as needed the money to train as a hairdresser! I have just had an operation so been off work for a while! Now I want a fresh start in a new job! I love caring so much and wanna go back to a similar job! But people are saying I've wasted my time training to be a hairdresser although i still do mobile hair! I'm an x-ray technologist and I know what you mean about liking the medical field. You can get an LVN certificate in 1 year but the money isn't that great. My advice is go to a junior college and get a 2 year degree in nursing and become an RN. The job description is good and the money is great!! Look into it!! You won't be sorry! And don't care about what people say. It's your life right?! Good luck!! Work at the nursing home AND be a hairdresser! You know the ladies there would appreciate it! You never waste money with an education. I am currently in school for nursing and have found it to be the right decision for me. The money is great, and if you like caring for people, that is the line of work to go into. Let's put it this way... my hairdresser is currently attending nursing school.... basically, you have got the best of both worlds. it depends on what you want. do you want to do something you enjoy doing or something that gives you more pay. if you want something with more money, analyse both jobs then choose, if not chose what you enjoy doing. which ever way you go, you could still do both if you can squeeze time for it. I suggest you work in nursing as your primary job, but be one of those hairdressers that goes to people's houses after work hours and on weekends to do their hair for lower prices as opposed to working in a salon, that way you earn more! |
