One main thing that i learned as a former substance abuser myself. Stay away from other users. And use HALT, which means, dont get to hungry, to angry, to lonely or tor tired. THese increase your risks of returning to your substance of choice, which happens to be alcohol. If you are a true alcoholic, you may need to be weaned off of it. If you dont you could go into seizures, or have other bad side affects. Best of luck..

AND?????????????///

as an alcoholic myself, i find it helpful to go to meetings, etc. having random ua's for alcohol thru the probation people also keeps me in line. maybe if youre serious you might wanna go to AA &/or be held accountable by someone if you really want to quit.

Alcohol and other drugs affect people from "Yale to jail." The only shame is not doing anything about it. Call AA, find where the meetings are and GO! If you need professional help, look into your company's E.A.P. Good Luck & GOD bless!

You have a choice, keep drinking and lose everything else you love eventually, or stop drinking and have a life better than you can now imagine. You have to look at you, and there is no way you can do this alone. I've been going to AA for over 14 years, and there are tons of doctors and nurses there. You have the most stressful jobs and easy access to mind bending substances. Of course, we all do. You know what to do. Make your decision. If you keep drinking, good luck; hope you see the light before you see the headlights. If you stop drinking, do not do it alone; go to AA and reach out your hand.

good luck to you!! I hope everything works out!
