Is it better to have training as a Nurse Assistant/Aide or a EKG & Phlebotomy Technician?

Which career choice as more options? Which one makes more money?

Myself personally, given the choice between the two, I'd have to go for the EKG/Phlebotomy. A CNA is pretty much restricted to nursing homes and home health agencies, taking vital signs and changing bed pans (although I think more hospitals are beginning to see the advantages in hiring CNA's), while EKG and phlebotomy techs can work pretty much anywhere--doctor's offices, hospitals, outpatient laboratories, etc. I'm not knocking CNA work--it's important and I'm glad there are people in the world who are willing to do that. It's just not for me, is all I'm saying. I'm not sure how much EKG/phl. techs make, but where I live, CNA's make around $8/hr or so. Phlebotomists make pretty good money, from what I can gather. Good luck in whatever you decide to do!
