Thinking of training to be a nurse?????? |
Im 37 years old and im thinking about a career in nursing, the reason why im thinking about it is that my children are a lot older and im ready to do something for my self for a change!!! If you go along to your local college they will help you discover just what educational requirements you need. I think you can do an access course which will entitle you to get into nursing training. I think most nursing courses are degree bases these days. hi that a good idear u can go in as a care asstant and after a few months try to get surconded..u dont need any qualifications for this.but don't go in to learning dis as the trained nurses are being faded out...but to be honest its all paper work now.. I went to the local Red Cross and took up Nursing Assistant hi , i qualified in october as rgn, you do need 5 gcse's a-c or equvilant also have to sit a maths exam at interview stage, you can do an access course at your local college a lot of more mature students do it this way. it is really hard work and unless your seconded the bursary is awful around 5500 a year! you do 3 years of full time placement hours juggled with essays and exams you ll prob end up havin to get a part time job and have not much time for a life. it is worth it once you qualify and the moneys not bad its just hard work getting there, if you really want to do it then get onto the access course and maybe get a part time job in a nursing home or hospital as a care assistant to gain some experience that will help in your uni application. hope this helps and good luck! Try working as care assistant first, it's gonna get you some experience. A levels, NVQ, BTEC or equivalent. |
