How does studying sociology help when training to be a nurse? |
I am training to be a nurse and one module I am studying is on sociology. How does this help me to be a better nurse? I have been a nurse for 17 years and I deal with all different kind of cultural situations. It will help you communicate with you patients and sometimes your Dr.'s. When there is a clear line of communication things are resolved much faster. it will teach u how to socialize with your patients You get to learn about the experiences of particular social groups e.g. the elderly, the poor, ethnic minorities etc. You should also gain a greater understanding of the economic infrastructure of the NHS. It helps you to understand that people exist at differing social levels - aids in your ability to use empathy with your patient It also helps you to communicate with your patients - sociology, like psychology, helps explain behavior. If you can understand how and why people think, act and believe as they do, it can only help in their care. Well, I'm studying the nurse course too..... It helps much as to know the society much better in every part of level. It also can help us to become a better nurse in communicating the community with their illness and need favor..... something with global life have to keep in our hand for our task as a nurse. :) |

No housing benefit shouldnt be affected the bursary is rubbish but I managed to get quite generous tax credits whilst I was doing it. I recall getting about 拢800 a month and 拢200 tax credits. Hop... I work for an agency so I get to go to differen... it means the school has a plan to teach students who are located at distant locations, through internet, correspondence, or interactive tv with partner schools.
