Can you take nurse aide training program when you are pregnant? |
i am 7weeks pregnant and i am not sure i can take the classes.i am not sure what u do in training. The training is mostly how to wash your hands and keep free from spreading germs. It is also about safety for you and the other person. There is no heavy lifting required except when they show you how to properly lift, transfer someone. I would recommend you go ahead and do the training, pass the test and that way after you have the baby, you can go back to work. Don't delay your education :) Also if they ask you to do heavy lifting, just let them know your situation. I don't see why you couldn't! I think it would be fine. I am 7 weeks and 6 days pregnant so I have looked up stuff like that. I just finished and received my certificate for the CNA program. Where I took my class they recommend not going through the course if your pregnant. I took the course where you are in a class for 4 weeks and then in clinical for 4 weeks. During clinical there is lifting, pulling, pushing. Mostly lifting. They are called one man pivot transfers. A lot of the residents are heavy. If you need to now anymore about the CNA program contact me. I will be more than happy to answer any questions you have. Good luck and congratulations on your pregnancy. Its just a course...there's not much involved. Nurse's aids do do some practicum work. But it will be mostly changing bed pans |
