Are there any nursing homes in Topeka that offer CNA training? |
I am looking into becomeing a CNA. Through internet research I have found in most peoples opinion that on the job training is better than classroom. Any info would be much appreciated. Although I am not familiar with the opportunities in your specific area, I can give you some general advice. Start by calling your local nursing homes and ask if they offer paid/free training to become a CNA. You would be surprised to find out that many institutions do offer this. As for the job itself, I feel hands-on experience is key to understanding this career. It is much more then simply physical care, to become a good CNA, you really have to provide just as much psychological care because more often then not, you are their only "family" now, so they need you to be a listening ear many times just as much or even more then their physical needs and wants. Good luck in your future endeavors!! :) |
